Arkansas Homeschool Legal Requirements


Homeschooling is regulated at the state level and changes may be made to the relevant statutes at any time. Arkansas Department Of Education - Home Schools
The Home School Office was established in October 1999 to promote collaboration between home school parents, public schools and the Arkansas Department of Education. The primary responsibility of the Home School Office is to provide information and technical assistance on laws and regulations governing home schools to all interested persons. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the Home School Office to modify, update and disseminate the Notice of Intent to Home School and Waiver forms to all school districts before the current school year begins. Parents/guardians are required to file current year pre-printed forms with their local school district superintendent’s office on an annual basis according to state law. Links to pre-printed forms.

Arkansas State Homeschool Organizations

The Education Alliance
Promoting, protecting and strengthening education in Arkansas. The Education Alliance is a division of Family Council. Based in Little Rock, Family Council was established in 1989 in association with Focus on the Family and Dr. James Dobson. We believe parents have a God-given responsibility to ensure that their children are educated. Therefore, parents must be free to choose the type of education they believe is best for their child. This group formed for homeschool families to co-operatively attend activities in Benton County, Arkansas. This is the place to find fun, friends and field trips. Homeschoolers from Benton County (and surrounding areas) are welcome. This group is restricted, you must contact the list owner and attend a public activity, then you will be added to the email group for activity/field trip information.
